This is Jimmy Livingston's (Jake Gyllenhaal) complete hero bubble with full-sized stunt body from the 2001 film Bubble Boy. Jimmy Livingston was born without an immune system, and is required to live inside a giant bubble his entire life. When he discovers that the girl he loves is leaving to be married in Niagara Falls, Jimmy builds a portable bubble and sets off on a journey to win her heart. This is the hero bubble suit Jimmy (Gyllenhaal) uses throughout the film. The stunt body was used for effects shots in which Jimmy gets hit by a car, bus, flown through a billboard, thrown off a highway into a train, etc. After production the bubble was mounted on the stunt body for this display. This full-sized body is made of dense foam, sculpted in the face to resemble Jake Gyllenhaal. The face features hand-punched hair, resin eyes and teeth. There is a tape repair on one arm, and cracking on the face due to it actually being hit by the truck, multiple times. The bubble is made of heavy vinyl and features plastic arms which extend out from the suit, allowing the character to grab objects. The bubble also exhibits some light burn marks from flames in the burning restaurant scene, as well as a Dr. Phreak business card placed inside the front pocket of the bubble. The suit has an integral fan in the back (original to it) that will inflate the bubble. This fan is not designed to run for extended periods. To keep the bubble inflated for a period of time an external air pump will be needed. This great full-sized piece measures 75" tall, and is attached to a simple, black wood base measuring 36" in diameter. The piece is in good condition overall with wear due to stunt production use. This piece will come with a signed letter of authenticity from Amalgamated Dynamics, Inc. co-founders Alec Gillis and Tom Woodruff, Jr. *Please note: Due to the size and weight of this item, shipping will require special freight services.
